Meet the 2019 Leadership Scholarship Winner
Trisha Laughlin
Congratulations to Trisha Laughlin, the 2019 recipient of the Michael J. McGowan Leadership Scholarship Award! Trisha is a rising sophomore nursing student at Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts, where her instructors praise her leadership acumen as reflecting passion, empathy, and social engagement.
Trisha has been part of NOAH her entire life, having attended her first NOAH conference at just three months of age. Most recently, at her 10th consecutive national conference, Trisha volunteered as a crew leader with the 6th-9th-grade students. Having previously served as a junior counselor at the 2017 NOAH Family Summer Camp, this summer Trisha graduates to the role of Camp Counselor.
We are delighted to share that Trisha’s future aspirations include serving on NOAH’s Board of Directors.
Honorable Mention
Sarah Kane
Congratulations to Sarah Kane, Honorable Mention for the 2019 Michael J. McGowan Leadership Scholarship Award! Sarah is a graduating senior at West Morris Mendham High School and will be attending the University of Pennsylvania to study physics with a minor in mathematics/computer science in the fall. While Sarah has a wide range of interests, she has chosen to pursue a degree in physics with the goal of one day becoming a researcher and professor.
