He attended Florida State University earning Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Risk Management and his Masters degree in Risk Management and Insurance. Donté began his insurance career working for the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation as an analyst supervisor. He currently holds several advanced insurance designations including CPCU, ARe and CRM.
Since 2010, Donté has been appointed by successive Florida Governors to serve consecutive three-year terms on the Florida Rehabilitation Council for the Blind, which serves as an Advisory Council for the Florida Division of Blind Services. He serves as Chairman of the Board for the Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches and member of the Board of Directors for his regional Goodwill. Donté is also a Paralympic medalist as a member of the Men’s U.S. National Goalball Team, competing in the Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece and Beijing, China.
