Mark is the father of two adult children with albinism and has been a NOAH member since 1990. To date, he has attended eleven National Conferences working in the children’s programs and providing information and guidance to new parents. Locally, he meets with new parents to discuss challenges and rewards of being a parent of a child with albinism.
Mark has an Industrial Engineering degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from Eastern Michigan University. He has worked for the John Deere company since 1999, and is currently in the Construction & Forestry Division. Previously, he worked for Ford Motor Company for 10 years in various manufacturing, design engineering, and financial roles. Since 2012, Mark has been on the Board of Directors and Sub-Finance Committee for Hillcrest Family Services in Iowa. This organization helps provide better outcomes for those less fortunate in personal crisis or in family turmoil, through health, educational, youth, family, and mental health services. This organization serves 22,000 people annually with a $20M dollar budget.
Mark is an avid cyclist who enjoys traveling the United States and world seeing locations by bicycle. When he’s not working or bicycling, he can be found cheering on his Iowa State Cyclones or enjoying the company of the family dogs – Bailey and Max.
