Hi! My name is Honora H, and I have albinism. Growing up in the Sunshine State with albinism hasn’t been easy. Constantly reapplying sunscreen on sunny days and wearing sunglasses and a hat when I go outside has definitely been a challenge.
For a long time, I felt frustrate that I always had to prepare before going outside and upset that I couldn’t drive as a teenager. But one day, my mindset began to shift.
Instead of focusing on what I couldn’t do, I started appreciating my albinism and the positives that come with it.
It’s given me a unique story, opportunities to educate others, and a deeper appreciation for the people in my life who support me every day.
I’m still learning new things about myself and my abilities, but changing my perspective has truly transformed my life.
